2018 Christmas

Our families 2018 Christmas session paid homage to the natural landscape of Virginia. For the first time in over 5 years, we witnessed the leaves change color and fall. We felt the chill in the air, and breathed in the heavy aroma of pine and leftover bonfires. With rosy cheeks, my children and I explored nearby trails, searching for the perfect location. Everywhere we looked deep greens, golden yellows and rustic orange colors filled the scene. Branches, twigs, and pinecones littered the ground and crunched as we stepped. Natures raw beauty inspired me more and more. As I searched for clothes, I concentrated on coordinating hunter greens with navy. While adding a pop of mustard and red for an festive flare. To add more depth, I mixed different textures: velvet, cotton and denim.

2018 Christmas

My shooting style is relaxed. I let the kids have fun with each other and only posed them for a few pictures. Surprisingly, there was absolutely no bribing this go around. It was a very cold day, so they knew if they listened well, I would finish fast. And, I did. The only trouble I had was from our English Springer Spaniel, Gunner. He did not want to take pictures. It was pretty amusing, haha! The last shot of the session is of him sitting very pretty and still in a tiny sleigh. After lots of praising and the promise of a treat, success!

Yes, that is a cashmere scarf he is proudly sporting. He looks mighty regal, if you ask me. If you ask my husband, he might have other choice words to say. We hope your family had a very Merry Christmas and are excited for the New Year! From now until Jan. 1st, 2019, Jean Wines Photography is offering sessions at half off! Savings this big, only happens once a year, so don’t hesitate to book your session today.

The early morning hours proved tiresome for a teenager like you. I am sure you were up all night worrying about what to wear and if your clothes would fit just right. Or, more than likely, you were up all night working behind the counter at the local Starbucks, serving others. Together, we enjoyed a good cup of brew and watched the fog lift. We chatted about different poses, gathering ideas on the best places to shoot. Then, throughout the day, you had me smiling, laughing, and at times on the verge of tears. Prideful tears not those sappy kind. You walk with the perfect amount of confidence. Effortlessly, you blend modern style with eclectic vibes.  In front of the camera, you are a natural. Behind those blue eyes, I see a young man determined to succeed.
